I have begun to realize that I have many more visitors here than I had a year or so ago, so perhaps I should explain the "Scourge of the Internet."
When I first started this blog, a blogging friend of mine was under attack from a group of crime board habituees. They posted all sorts of personal information about her and her children at sites such as Usenet, and on various blogs. She retaliated, and the thing escalated to the point where these people were calling the police and CPS, etc., and sending them to her home. Accusations were made against her at her workplace and havoc ensued. Because of my association with her, my blog came under attack, as well, and my personal information found its way to Usenet, as well as pictures lifted from here and photoshopped in childish ways. Here's a link to a post I wrote about the blog war, back in the day.
I can't quite remember when it was that one of the disaffected, quoting something I had posted, added, "No wonder she's the scourge of the internet!" Of course, I adopted the moniker right then and there! A few months later, another said something to the effect of, "...Just who does she think she is, calling herself the Scourge of the Internet?"
Well, the "blog war" (thankfully) is now long gone, but the name remains.
Because I like it.
I like it too. It runs a gamut of definitions and is kind of over-inflated like the person who gave it to you.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you often suffer fools but a scourge...uh, hardly!
The monicker definitely reminds us to "Be careful out there". Oh, I loved Hill Street Blues, especially the theme music.
I never watched it.
