Rants by Ronni--Scourge of the Internet: Smokers' Angst
This is a link to the first post in which I mentioned that I had quit smoking.
I remember the date of that last cigarette. It was August 29, 2005. I may not have mentioned it for a couple of days, because of the hurricane and all, but I remember.
I'm still sick of hard candy, and I'm 40 pounds heavier, but I'll spend this year dealing with that.
When did you stop feeling that awful craving?
ReplyDeleteI only realised I had stopped craving them once I had started again. I know, don't ask! It is a long and stupid story.
Now, I only indulge in the evening, once I eventually get home from work. I need to stop, but I'm really not inclined.
It just sort of faded away, Mgt. The patch was a huge help.
ReplyDeleteI still think about having a cigarette once in a while, but it's nothing I can't overcome with a mental slap on the wrist.
Well done, Ronni! Keeping yourself as busy as you do, must be a huge help.
ReplyDeleteNot many people last a year, so, I hope you feel proud.
Quitting at the theater is something of a challenge. I had quit for a couple of months before Auntie Mame, but started up again during that show.
ReplyDeleteThere are people who only smoke at the theater.
I couldn't manage that. It soon leaked over into the rest of my life. I just had to accept the fact that quitting is forever; not smoking one or two at a party, or at the theater, or after dinner.
Nope. It's an addiction. I must smoke zip, zilch, nada.
