I've been saying for a while that we are about one Supreme Court Justice away from total ruin.
Apparently, it has happened without that one more conservative Justice.
Now, whichever party manages to claw its way to power can rearrange the voting boundaries to suit itself.
Even now, I've noticed signs posted at the edge of the latest version of "district," stating the senator's or representative's name.
Because nobody knows, any more. One Austin district, a Democratic stronghold, was stretched from Austin all the way to Houston, encompassing a lot of rural Texas, where Republicans hold sway.
Damn Tom Delay, anyway!
Ronni, they have all sold their souls to the Devil and his Disciples. And, we all know who they are, don't we!

Good morning
Morning, Mgt!
ReplyDeleteDemocracy can not function when the party in power has the right to rearrange the boundaries of the voting districts to keep themselves there!
Maybe they think that the public has been subdued sufficiently, by the threat of terrorist and Bird Flu, to notice they are being disenfranchised.
ReplyDeleteProbably, most are! They voted Bush back in, or did they?
