Weather!

Well, OK...I've always said that we never get hurricanes here. They come ashore along the gulf, but they always peter out before we get anything more than a few drops of rain and a bit of wind.

Today, we have a tropical storm sitting right on top of us. So far, Round Rock has had four and a half inches of rain (4.52", to be precise), with the end being tomorrow sometime. Stoplights are freaking out, branches are falling, and the creeks are most definitely rising.

We are on high ground, here on Dragon Drive. At the theater, the director discussed the Emergency Plan, as the theater is on ground that is not so high. There is a steep hill right by the building, which protects us from nasties, but that hill has a lot of trees that drop bits on us every once in a while. It's a very spooky hill.

It's pretty warm...mid 70s, I guess. Thursday and Friday are supposed to be back in the 90s, so we have the sauna to look forward to. For now, though, it's rain on the roof, mud in the yard and a noisy distraction at the theater.

So Hell froze over and pigs flew, because there is a tropical storm sitting right on top of us!

  2. Yeah...driving in it was fun. I'm glad I live just 5 minutes from the theater...I had a rehearsal.

  3. I just LOVE it... I know I'm weird. And I live in a sentry that is built on high ground and has a basement. LOL...

  4. "High ground" is the operative phrase, I think.
