Do you know what this is?
If you said it looks like a little "Big Bird," you'd be right.
If you said it looks like a cowbird, you'd be right about that, too.
In Australia, where he lives, he is called a Cattle Egret, and this one is a rescue. This blog,
Raising Punky,
chronicles the rescue.
Please join me in following this story.
"Raising Punky" is now in my blogroll.
Now that's the cutest thing I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteLook at the size of its feet!
ReplyDeleteThere are such good people in the world. Sometimes I forget that.
ReplyDeleteRinni, how was Saturday night? Did you and Chandra enjoy yourselves?
ReplyDeleteYes we did. And the group raised over $200 for the Blue Santa program.
ReplyDeleteWhere do you find this stuff? That is really cool. I like the name "Punky" and the videos are really fun. I look forward to seeing Punky grow up to be one of those lovely Herons....tracie
ReplyDeleteThe rescuer is actually a crime-board friend of mine.
ReplyDeleteCool, huh?
I'm so disappointed, Ronni. I can only see the front picture in the gallery. Maybe, it is taking too long to load. Dang!
ReplyDeleteThought I'd update here too Ronni,
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately Punky died a couple of days ago (notice is on my blog). I was very upset as I tried so hard to give him life after he survived a 10+feet drop from his nest. He was so tiny :(
I have two more Egrets, Skyte and Jack, who are older and are doing well.
I'll be keeping Punky's blog open for these guys and will update at least once a week with their stories.
Thanks for dropping by everyone!
Love
Sami
