Restaurant Review

OK. I'm not any sort of gourmet or anything. I don't much like fancy food on square plates that come in eight courses of four bites each. To me, a bouquet is something brides sling around at wedding receptions.

Still...

The Golden Palace is a Chinese restaurant in Renaissance Square--right across from Half Price Books. A quarter of a mile from Dell. And, at 12:35 PM on a Wednesday, there were maybe four tables occupied.

Everything is dingy in there. The silverware has a dull patina, as do the Plexiglas table covers. The meat was mushy, the fried rice, boring, and the sautee'd green beans had too much garlic. Not hot enough, either. The iced tea was cloudy, though it tasted all right.

I should have gone to Hao Hao.

  2. Yeesh! It sounds like "The Golden Palace" should be renamed "The Tarnished Hovel".
