Some Scattered Thoughts

There's a statue of George Washington in front of a building across the street from Trafalgar Square in London. It was delivered from this country to that one with a yard of American soil along with it. The reason? Because George had said that he would never set foot on English soil. Nobody is trying to hide that, although I'm sure there are some English who get a bad feeling from being in such close proximity to such an American icon.

My friend Jeannie used to have a set of the most god-awful sheets I have ever seen in my life. They were covered with dinner-plate sized flowers in yellow and black on a while ground. Each flower had its own sub-pattern, and the whole thing was incredibly busy. I remember asking her how she managed to go to sleep on them. She said, "It's easy...I just close my eyes."

Shall we change the names of the streets, next?
