Lolly Has Hidden Talents

In our family, if the bathroom door is closed, somebody is in there. I got up this morning, and the bathroom door was closed.

Due to a rusted bolt, we presently have one functioning bathroom.

As I forayed out into the living room, Jim saw me, and headed past me to the bathroom.

Brendan is at his dad's...so WHO was in the bathroom?

It was Lolly!

There are drawers right inside the bathroom door. If the drawer gets opened when the door is shut, the door won't open till the drawer is shut.

Lolly had gone in the bathroom, pushed the door closed, and pulled the drawer open, effectively trapping herself in there, with nine cats and two rather distressed humans outside.

We are going to have to put a baby latch on that drawer.

Lolly was right proud of herself, too!

  1. Good Morning!

You're right, Lolly is too smart for her own good!

  2. I would have pee'd my pants.

When I need to go, I need to go, NOW!

    Umm...a cat that opens drawers?!

  3. Achilles switches off lights. We have had to rearrange furniture so that he can't reach light switches. It's disconcerting when the room suddenly goes dark and he's sitting there, trilling with pride.

  6. Ronni, years ago (funny how I always start out that way-maybe because I have nothing happening now!) I had a huge grey striped tabby named "Grey". He would go into the kitchen, open a bottom cabinet door and go from cabinet to cabinet by jumping over the divider and pushing the drawers open from the back. It was too weird for a guest to be having coffee with me and see a drawer mysteriously open, and then the next one, and so on. If he found something good to eat, crackers or or dried fruit he would jump out of the bottom cabinet dragging his prey! Cats are charming, devilish, canny and mysterious. I love 'em.

Grandmaboo, I would have said to my guest, "The place is haunted, you know", without missing a beat!
