Day after tomorrow, I am off to Iowa for Brendan's graduation. My route takes me through St. Louis, and I will still be able to get there in plenty of time for graduation, which is on Saturday. I hope to meet up with some crime board friends in St. Louis. Several of us have kept in touch since the investigation of the Murder of Sherie Coleman and her two sons by their monstrous husband/father. We followed the arrest and trial, and the civil suits, some of which are ongoing. It was an interesting case. Each case has its own twist, on top of the things most of them have in common.
Now that Chris Coleman is safely ensconced in prison, where he will remain for the rest of his life, I hope to meet with one or two of them. And the eastern route is much prettier than just hauling skate up IH 35, though I will probably come back that way.
It has been a while since I've taken a real drive; four years, to be exact. I am excited to be seeing Brendan graduate from Cornell College and embark on the next phase of his life, which involves paying student loans. We all know how that goes, don't we?
As well, I will meet his girlfriend, which I've wanted to do for a while.
This trip is being made on a shoestring. I am hoping nothing goes wrong with the car, because I will have no safety net or rainy day fund. Hopefully, the Travel Fairy will cast her magic dust on my path and eliminate all obstacles.
I'm taking both camera and computer, so you will hear all about it, both here and on Facebook.
I am also taking a banjo. Don't ask.
Ronni,
ReplyDeleteDoes your trip take you through Indiana? We are just a few hours east of St. Louis, and then Lisa is about an hour northeast of me. I'd love to see you and I know she would, too. After staying in St. Louis you may not want another overnight so soon, but if you do, you would be most welcome. If not, you would also be welcome for a meal and conversation and hanging out at the pool.
If I can, I'd love to.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice trip!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ben. Wish you were along!
