Home, Sweet Home!

It's not the prettiest house in Round Rock, but it looks beautiful to me.  Of all the places we looked at, it is by far the cheapest.  For instance, I called about one 3-2-2 house, over off Great Oaks that was very nice, but the back yard was not fenced, it was $1500/month and the didn't allow smokers.  Not even outside!  Right.

(No, I haven't taken up the vile habit again, but Chandra has, and many of our friends smoke.)

This house is located a couple of blocks north of the old Trinity Lutheran Home (now Trinity Care Center).  It's far enough from the creek that it would have to be a flood of biblical proportions to cause us any trouble, and it's a quiet street.  It has enough mod cons to make it livable, and the beauty part of renting is that, if something breaks, we can call the landlord to get it fixed.

Hans doesn't look bad sitting there in the car port, does he?

Still don't have the lease...but that should be happening tomorrow.  The nice lady said that, as soon as she received our proof-of-income statements, she would draw it up.

Now, all we have to do is get there.

I'm off work until Tuesday, so we should have it under control by then.

Whew!

  1. And it's not leaky, probably not drafty (lower utility bills), you won't get random armadillo, raccoon, opossum, or squirrel visits....

    1. Most likely not. I saw no obvious holes in the roof, walls, doors or foundations...I like it.

  2. That's a really homey looking place! There are so many pros to renting, if I ever get out of my money pit I doubt that I will ever buy again. Just having the freedom to move at the end of a lease without having to go through the hassle of getting a house ready to sell sounds heavenly. We just finished helping my mom sell her home. (Well, since she is 85, we actually did almost all the work.) It was an exhausting ordeal even though it was a very nice house.

I hope that your move goes smoothly, and you enjoy the peace of mind that not having to worry about paying for home repairs brings! :-)

  3. So glad to hear that. A new start can only be a good thing. Your old house must have held so many memories good and not-so-good.

  6. Now we just need some furniture, namely, a small couch, chairs, kitchen table and chairs, and a couple three bed frames. Oh, and dressers/shelves/wardrobes...we have the essentials...beds, washer and dryer, fridge, WiFi...
