Elderstory

Ronni Bennett has been kind enough to publish another of my stories at http://www.timegoesby.net/elderstorytelling/2009/12/the-doll.html.

I have several stories there. There's a drop-down menu in the right side bar, labeled "Storytellers," that should lead you to the rest.

  1. I love that story - especially the part about giving a doll to your friend too.

  2. Made me tear up. Good Dads are the greatest gift. I'm so happy to have my own and my son's.

  3. Yes. Everyone who has or had one is blessed, for sure.

  4. i loved your story. i wish my kids had any understanding of being happy with one doll - now a days it's more, more, more... and it's still not enough.

  5. It's never enough. I don't know when Christmas became the time when parents are supposed to fulfill their kids' every material dream, but I think we may have to wean them off this.

I was a very cash-poor single mother when my kids were small, and I told them that there were so many kids in the world with less than they did that Santa had a new rule...only one major prezzie. Of course, I bought them little things as well, but there was only ever one thing from the list of much-coveted gifts.
