The Truth Squad

You will probably notice my shiny new "Truth Squad" badge just to the right. If you click on it, it will take you to the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare. The NCPSSM has a page where the facts are posted about Health Care Reform, and that's where you will land. They have been in existence a long time, working to combat the attempts to reduce, change, privatize and eliminate Social Security and Medicare. You know these attempts have been occurring in recent years, but perhaps you don't know that they have been happening almost since the inception of these two successful programs.

Granted, the programs are not perfect, but nothing on this earth ever is. They are better than nothing, which is exactly how I feel about health care reform.

The insurance lobbyists are trying to convince Democrats to vote against health care reform, the very issue these legislators were elected to enact. The lobbyists are trying to subvert the democratic process. The Truth Squad gives us some weapons to take it back.

As my status report on Facebook says,
No one should die because they can't afford health care, and no one should go broke because they get sick. And NO ONE, no matter how pious, should obstruct health care reform!
Jesus was concerned with health care. Why else did he go about healing people?
