Health Care Reform Rant

It appears that teeth are being yanked from the Health Care Reform Bills.

If the Single Payer Option is dropped, there is no benefit to me in what's left. While I will be very glad to see ANY amount of reform, it seems that the only part of it that will be of direct benefit to me is the Single Payer Option.

Why are so many believing the bare-faced lies being spread by the minions of the insurance monopolies? At the beginning of this campaign, something like 68 or 70% of Americans favoured Health Care Reform. Now, it's down to 51%.

Folks, there are 60,000,000 Americans without health insurance. I am one of them. Many of you could become one of us on very short notice. A serious accident or illness could bankrupt you, or preclude your ability to purchase insurance in the future.

Forgive me, but, if I were to lose everything and became indigent, won't that be expensive for taxpayers? Especially if there are 60,000,000 like me? It seems to me that lack of action could be as costly or more so than action.

The People want this. It's only the businesses that profit hugely from the status quo who don't. What makes you think that Rush Limbaugh and Glen Beck and their ilk are telling you the truth? They both, and their network, have such a reputation for honesty!

(Insert rolling eyes)

So all the idiocy being spouted and touted and flouted all over the country is going to cause me to lose all hope of coverage. Until the sixty million without, and however many million who could permanently lose theirs, can stand up and demand it, we are not going to get it. The fat cats have the money, and they are running scared enough to spend it. We need to make them even more scared. We need to let the people we elected know that they work for US, not the insurance lobby, or the pharmaceutical lobby, but US!

The idiots are taking over the asylum, Dearly Beloved, and we need to get our butts in gear and take it back.
