Strange Month

This is going to be a strange month, so if a day or so goes by without an entry, don't go thinking I've fallen down and can't get up, or anything.

Tonight I start house- and granny-sitting for a friend of mine. She and her SO are off for a fun-filled month at sites European, so I agreed to fill in with Granny (otherwise known as Mrs Thing), who is a very sweet but somewhat vague lady of some 90+ years.

So, most blogging will be done on my laptop, or on my friend's computer. I shall be hopping from pillar to post. Between work, rehearsals, being here to feed the cats, and being there to fix Mrs Thing a meal or two each day and stay the night.

Never mind the sewing for "Romeo and Juliet."

Never a dull moment...

  5. Why is she referred to as Mrs. Thing?

  6. I call her that behind her back. I use her real name to her face, but I got the idea from "Keeping Up Appearances," when Hyacinth can't pronounce the name of the lady her father is dating, because she's Eastern European and has way too many consonants.

Mrs Thing doesn't have that problem, but it took me much too long to learn and remember her real name, and "Mrs Thing" makes Kaye smile.
