Strange, Is It Not?

I see that my visitor from Sao Paulo followed Feedjit to Dabeehive to see where all the hits were coming from.

Once again, a forum of which I am not a member has chosen to post a link so that their members can visit my blog, this time to a rant I wrote, questioning the quality of the moderation at the InSessions message boards.

The last time that happened, I applied for membership in the forum that linked to me, but was denied. I forgot what reason was given, but it made me go "hmmm." And then, it made me go "Humph!"

This time I didn't bother. I'm suffering enough rejection in real life right now, without adding insult to injury.

Just for the record, though, I don't think it's very nice to link to an entry without allowing the writer to see what you're saying about his or her work. It's...well...rude. In my opinion, of course.

Just saying...

  1. Ha! That's what I thought and why I tried to check if I was able to see what they were talking about, as I know it is closed. You know I usually don't follow the links.

Don't feel rejected, my friend. Know that you are truly admired around the world, and I would be traveling with you right now, if I could.

Hope I will be able to meet you personally soon.

  2. Hi Ronni! Haven't been here in a while...WoW! Your picture sure is different! Neat! I thought I was on the wrong site! Happy day to you...

  3. Sorry, Ronni! Someone told me you had a good comment about the moderation at CTV and I shared it with my friends on our board. Don't feel rejected - we like what you said and like your blog.

Maybe you should make it private if you don't want strangers reading it. Just a thought. Sorry again to upset you.

  4. If I objected to strangers READING my blog, I would make it private. What I object to is strangers discussing it behind closed doors.

If I'm cool enough to link, I should be cool enough to admit. It's that simple.

Feel free to copy and paste, but don't bring me a link to a place I can't enter.

  5. Hi, Donna! Good to see you...

I'll change back to something more civilized soon. I just got done playing that character, and had a lot of fun doing it!

  6. You probably wouldn't like what we're saying about you now. :-D

  7. Anonymous, Ronni is too nice to say it but I think you should stick your underhanded rude comments up your butt.

Telling Ronni that people are talking shit about her and she cant respond is rude and obnoxious.

  8. Of course our board is closed, ronni. It's the internet! Unlike you...we don't want the public reading our posts and rants.

If you are going to get upset enough to blog about people reading your blog..maybe you really should think about making it a private blog.

This is the internet. Eyes are everywhere.

    Have a great day!

  9. Hi Ronni,

The internet takes the old office type gossip to a whole new level. It used to be you knew they were talking about you, but didn't know what they were saying. Now, it's you know they are writing about you, but you don't know what they are writing! Just a bunch of little people with no sh-t to do.

Try not to let it bother you. We love you!

    Stella

  10. I repeat (for those with reading comprehension problems), I have no objection to people READING my blog. If I did, it would either be private, or I wouldn't be doing it at all.

What I DO object to is having my work GANKED to a private area where I can't see what you are saying about it.

If you MUST, just copy and paste the entry and FORGET THE LINK. That way, I would never know.

    Got it?

  11. ...And furthermore, you can keep your "maybe you should" to your own self.

    ReplyDelete
  12. And, pursuant to that, I write what I choose, when I choose.

  13. Pffffffffffft don't flatter yourself. You're NOT that important. Just sorta amusing on a boring afternoon. Toodles.

  14. What good is a writer if they can't see past their own ego?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Jesus. You think RONNI has an ego? You are coming here to taunt her (for whatever reason), then going back to your private board to high five each other.

(yes we can see the feejit stuff that says exactly where you are going when you leave your lame posts)

Whats the matter? Did her post put a bug up your ass because it was too close to home? A bit too close to the truth?

  16. What good is a reader who leaves shitty anonymous comments?

    ReplyDelete
  17. If you are going to be an anonymous MUTT and a schoolyard bully, I'll post your damn IP any chance I get.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Gee Ronni you sure do get some winners! lol You know we all love your writing, and "they" do too or they wouldn't be reading you, sounds like anonymous might be a little off kilter..if you get my drift?
Funny how they hide in their little world over there, kinda weird in this day and age! they reject everyone..So i'm thinking that maybe it's really just ONE person trying to make people believe they have this big circle of friends going on! lol if they are ligit then they should allow you access..
So anonynmous, I dare you to open your boards to Ronni,or are you afraid of some competition?

  19. It's boring, Terri.

I have lurkers who like me, and lurkers who have spent months attacking me in the past. These could be some of the latter, but they could just as easily be a whole new crop. Don't know.

Been there, done that, burned the shirt.

  20. People like that just make me pissy you know? it's not like you were putting them down, you just wanted to know what they were saying..you weren't saying you didn't want them reading you!
And how childish was the comment, "You probably wouldn't like what we're saying about you now. :-D" VERY high schoolish! people like that have little or no self esteem, and have to be mean to others in order to feel good about themselves..funny thing is if they were just NICE to others, they might find they could have lots of friends! geesh grow up peeps! this isn't high school.

    ReplyDelete
  28. lol honestly, Whineybabypeepeepants????

But alas! consider where it came from! lol It's really just too funny how cowardly some people are. Guess they can't take being KNOWN...They might get embarrased ..You are so popular even children read you! isn't life grand?

  46. Hi there

followed the comment trail from Terri's site....

You know - it's simple really. There are two things that stands out clearly for me.

    1. This person (or group) are clearly intimidated by others opinions. Anonymous states that: (and I quote":
Of course our board is closed, ronni. It's the internet! Unlike you...we don't want the public reading our posts and rants.

So why does he/she/it posts items on other people's blogs?

Could it be that he/she/it is that desperate for somebody to read their thoughts?

If that desperate - why not join an OPEN forum?

    Where OTHER grownups meet?

By posting comments, he/she/it really defies the purpose of being a member to their own CLOSED forum...

    2. You should just block this person from your blog instead of giving him/her/it the time of day.

He/she/it is obviously scared to live normal lives like us.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Ronni,

Sorry to hear that you're having trouble with anyone grasping the simple concept of "if you're going to link my site at least let me see how you're using the link". The whole internet blogging manner thing should tell them NEVER use someone else's bandwidth (even if that person isn't paying for bandwidth) without their permission. It really is a shame that some folks can't get that simple concept through their thick skull.

FWIW, great pictures of your trip as well. You're traveling through such a beautiful area of the country. I hope you enjoy it and the pleasant memories for many years to come.
