This was one of my favourite rooms. Less formal than the white-furnitured living room, this is comfortable without being pretentious, in a 70s sort of way.

Here's the pool room ceiling. I like it, even if it seems a bit cave-like.

Elvis's grave.

On the whole, the house is pretty much what I expected. I have to edit pictures of the jungle room, as we were not allowed to use flash, and they are very dark. The kitchen was impressive, and designed for use.

The thing that struck me, more than anything, was the presence of not only Elvis, but of the other legends who spent time there.

I read a couple of biographies of Elvis, years ago, and now will need to revisit them with my pictures of the house.

I am glad they didn't let us upstairs to his room.

I have pictures of the costume display, but they require some editing, too.

  1. I must have been near the age of 7 when Elvis died. I remember where I was when I heard it and remember the crying women. Looking back, I can't believe it. It was a next door neighbor and she was just crying buckets of tears. I was pretty young, so I didn't really get what the fuss was about. I still don't really get what THAT fuss was about! She was hysterical!

  2. I am not much of an Elvis fan but I also remember *exactly* where I was when I heard of his passing.

The pic of the pool by the grave-sites is very nice & colorful.

Sounds like you're having a good time, Ronni.

    Onward ho!

  3. I like that room, your right it looks comfortable. I can't say I like the pool room ceiling though it is kinda neat to look at. I can't wait to see the other pictures.Drive safe.

  4. You should paint the wall at ThunderCloud like that.
