Twenty-seven years ago yesterday, it was Easter Sunday, and Vanessa was born in the house at 603 East Liberty Street, with two midwives and several friends in attendance. She weighed 7 lb 12 oz, and was beautiful.
She's a bit bigger now, but still beautiful.
By the way, I didn't forget her birthday, calling her at an ungodly early hour to sing "Happy Birthday" to her over the phone. Today, we shall go out to dinner.
