Meeting Carri
Carri, of Sixteen Sisters, lives fairly close to Aidan's and my destination last week, and she was kind enough to invite us to dinner with her husband and kids.
Aidan disappeared instantly with her son, as soon as he heard the phrase, "video games," which left me free to get acquainted with Carri.
Her husband cooked spaghetti, and we had a wonderful dinner. He also makes very good beer...light enough that I could drink a glass or two without being afraid to drive, but tasty enough to be served at room temperature.
Carri and I have been acquainted for several years, between blogs--hers, mine, and Loretta's. It was a real treat to have the opportunity to meet her in person.
Thanks, Carri and "Joe!"

Ronni,
ReplyDeleteIt was truly our pleasure! It was so nice to finally get to meet you in person.
Yeesh, I will never understand warm beer.
ReplyDeleteBut then I tend to even like my red wine chilled, so what do I know lol. I DO know I like my drinks cold. Very rarely do I even drink coffee, and when I do, its always chased with ice water.
Room temp is actually the healthiest way to drink any liquid. Or so I've been told.
ReplyDeleteA robust flavour is diminished by chilling. That goes for red wine, as well as stout, or any dark ale. When I buy Guinness, I keep it in the fridge, but let it warm up to about 50° or so to serve.
"Room temperature," in Europe, where they don't use a lot of ice, is usually lower than it is here.
Of course, American beer is so weak that chilling it does no harm, as there was not much flavour there to begin with.
ReplyDeleteI know - have read it, and heard it from British and French relatives.
ReplyDeleteI still like my ice.
I like light beer, and light wine for that matter lol.
