Mary Ellen's Unique Vision

Herod's Court

Herod

Herod's Henchman

Needless to say, the first shot is from the performance, the shots of Herod and his henchman were off-stage. I have been in a show with Phil Rodriguez, who plays Herod, and he is really nice. Matt, the henchman, is another terrific person. I hope as many of you as are in range will come and see this, because it is really good.

  1. Wow! Mary Ellen's vision certainly IS unique. I love it!

Wish I were closer. It looks like it's going to be a fabulous production. Post more pics when you can!

  2. She really is brilliant!

Plus, this is the Bible belt. For some of the actors, it's a religious experience. Caiaphas is being played by a minister.

  4. I am not sure you could convince Matt to do that.

  5. I first saw Jesus Christ Superstar on an Easter Sunday in San Francisco. It was a religious experience for me.

I loved Judas' questioning of timing (Why'd you choose such a backward time and such a strange land?) and wondered the same thing.

Now, I think that if Jesus had come today? His story could well have flown right under the radar. Never been seen. Never been noticed.

    It's a tale worth retelling.
