Thoroughly Modern Millie

I just came home from the opening night of "Thoroughly Modern Millie," at Cedar Park High School.

Unfortunately, I didn't get a program; or rather, I did, but didn't bring it home. They had people outside, asking folks to recycle them, so I put it in the basket without thinking.

The cast was too large for me to mention everyone, anyway, and the show was so good, I would have had to.

Everyone, everyone in this show was good. The principals were excellent, the production, tight, the set economical but sufficient, and the costumes (naturally), superb.

CPHS Theatre

This site has details as to performance times, ticket prices, and the address of the theater.

These kids can really SING! Mussy, Millie, Jimmy, Trevor, the Chinese boys, and Miss Barbara, in particular, have voices that you will be sorry to miss.

There were the usual opening night glitches, but nothing that a good set of notes from the director won't cure.

See it. It's worth the drive. The school is, of course, in Cedar Park. If you take 620 past 183, take a right on El Salido Parkway, and a left on Cypress Creek, the school is right there on the left.

  1. Sounds like an absolute delight!

I hope you were given complimentary tickets, Ronni. I would love to see the costumes. Perhaps you could put them in the gallery?

  2. The thing about costuming this way is that we rarely get pictures. If they send us some, I will borrow them from Ramona and scan them in. If they email them, that's easy--I just have her forward the email to me. I'd love to have some, too. We heard people commenting on how gorgeous the costumes were, on the way out.

  3. Aww, that is such a pity. I was really hoping to see them. Next time, use that camera-phone and click them as you finish each costume...please!

  4. a) I don't have a camera phone, and b) they don't look as good on the hangers as they do on the kids.

But I will see if the director will get us some shots.

As the local newspaper prints the programs, maybe there will be pics there.
