It Was A Lovely Party

I now fit into a size 12 pair of pants, if they're stretchy.

I know, because I bought some. And threw on an old silk satin shirt, and voilà!

There were maybe 50 people there, and Debbie and her husband and a handful of their friends form a band, which played. I've heard them before, and they sound really good.

I'd have to think that spending your birthday singing your heart out, backed up by a creditable rock band has to be a good thing. Go Debbie!

Kaye was late, as she is doing makeup for a Georgetown version of The Nutcracker," and didn't realize they had an evening show. She recently hurt her ankle, and was fairly nimble with her cane. She harassed Lou into dancing with me so we showed them young 'uns how to cut a rug!

Whoever made the sort of stuffing-like, Haggis-y things wrapped in bacon; I want the recipe. Those were fabulous!

After we had to clear out of the hall, we went to Kaye's and then to her son's house and gathered around a patio fire telling stories.

The party was held at the Senior Center, which rents out nice rooms for this sort of thing. I found out that they have ballroom dance classes, and I'm thinking about signing up.

Anyway, I did have a good time and I'm home, safe and sound, so all's well that ends well.

Hasta mañana!

  3. I got to dance. I love to dance. The last time I danced was at a block party Kaye held several years ago. Jim didn't like dancing.

  4. I am happy to hear that you found your dancing shoes and put them to good use. To my utter astonishment, I am hooked on "Dancing With the Stars".

Regarding the vehicles on your property, I have this suggestion. In our state you can have the fees waived for the time that said vehicles did not leave the property, if that's the case. You have to sign an affidavit but it's worth checking.

    Keep up the good work.

  5. I stupidly took both vehicles off the insurance, in a money panic after Jim died. I can't register them without insuring them first. And, I can't dispose of them until Jim's estate settlement makes it through the courts. Plus, disposition of one of them depends on the reopening of probate of Addy's estate (I don't really understand this part), because Jim never transferred the title from her name to his.

It's a big mess, and I will be left with a lot of fines.
