The Ghost of Wallpaper Past

While steaming this stuff of one of the walls in my entry, in order to apply some mood-lightening paint, this ghostly image appeared on the damp plaster underneath:

Yep. The ghostly image of flocked wallpaper.

I thought the paper in the front hall didn't match the rest of the house. The ghastly 70s flocking was too much for the realtor trying to "flip" the house in 1980.

I'm going to get one of those fluffy paint rollers that will give the paint a bit of texture.

Did I mention that it's going to be a very light peach?

My living room has darkly stained panelling on two walls, and one window. A third wall is dominated by a huge stone fireplace, and the other by set-in shelves.

I need all the light and warmth I can get.

  1. Hmm, I wonder how that paneling would look painted white? Might be stunning along with that light peach on the walls.

  2. Peach is a good colour, nice and cosy with the right lighting.
