A couple of fine-looking young men came in the shop today, asking if they could borrow our mannequin to take across the street to use as set dressing in a photo shoot. I was watching them, and the mannequin became a character in the shots.
So while the mannequin in the red dress and big hat with red feather trim leaned up against the white wall, the one guy would leap into the air, draped in a large piece of red fabric, and the other would snap a picture while the jumper was in the air, completely concealed behind the fabric. The results are surreal, and some just like them are shown on Bill's site. Check out the link at the bottom.
They had me put on a huge plastic eagle's head, and then a red robe and feathered mask. If only they knew...
Last night we saw "Lend Me A Tenor" at The Palace. It was wonderful, with great performances by the entire cast. The play requires a really light touch on the part of the director, and this production had that, in spades. Nikki, your gown needs some hem help. Good show, everyone. If you're local and have a chance to see this, do so. I laughed, and you all know what's been going on with me.
Tomorrow, we buckle down to some housework, and Monday, we tackle the tax man.
Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

I am so looking forward to seeing the pics, Ronni. They might have met their match in you!
ReplyDeleteThere are hurdles ahead but there is light at the end of the tunnel and, no, it is not an oncoming train. One step at a time, dear friend.
Well, I'm just a couple of weeks behind you in the "arrangements" department, it seems. Just glad it was my angry and vengeful mother, not my soul mate. Maybe we can get together for a pint when the dust settles, if we have anything left to buy one with, that is. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteRonnni:
ReplyDeleteI looked at the pictures on Bill's site. Amazing. I cannot wait to see the ones you will post.
As you see I am posting this quite early in the morning. You too may have some sleepless nights in the next months, which is why I usually go to bed about 8:30PM--knowing I will be awake at 3.
Hope you are doing OK.
Susan
Mary, I'm sorry about your mother...about what might have been...
ReplyDeleteSusan, I have been going to bed earlier the past few days. My insomnia usually takes the form of not being sleepy, rather than that of waking up in the night.
Thanks, Ronni. Well, the Brit is out of town for a few days so we can IM in the wee hours, eh?
ReplyDeleteVery cool photos--a nice smile for you right now...thanks for sharing!
Ronni:
ReplyDeleteMy insomnia was just like yours at first. Now after 12 months, it is more like "middle of the night--where is he????" insomnia.
The good news is it is not every night.
My Jim was Jewish--so today was the unveiling of the stone marker-an official Jewish ceremony that closes the year of mourning. I got sad for a bit, but now, a few hours later, things are better.
Nothing fills the hole in my heart--but time has softened the edges and made it not feel so raw. I know you will get there, too. But not today and not tomorrow.
