Damn!

I have finally figured out how my dad managed to lose my mom's wedding rings. After she died, he put them somewhere and never could remember where.

I can't find Jim's car keys. There is a key on that ring for every vehicle we own, including the only key for the Oldsmobile, which I have been trying to sell. Hard to sell a car without the keys. There is also a house key, and the remote lock for the Miata.

I am not a happy camper. I can't even remember if I had to unlock the Olds, or if it was open. As soon as I opened the door, I got stung by a red wasp, and forgot what happened to the keys after that.

And, yes, I have searched the car.

Just damn.

The keys are findable--and you will have an AHA moment when they show up.

Here is a trick I learned in 5th grade and it has never failed me. Say :Jesus, lost and found" while looking for the keys. You have to say it 12 times. By the 12th time, you will have found the keys.

Oh, and before you start, you have to believe it will work. . .

Good luck, I know the keys are going to show up soon.

  2. Have you checked all the drawers in the kitchen?

I have an old purse hanging from a coathanger in my closet, where I put everything that I don't want anyone else to touch.

Maybe you can remember a little cubby-hole that Jim used to use to keep things safe. I hope so.

  3. Actually, saying that....I have just lost the roadworthy certificate for my car and am in the process of getting a duplicate.

I knew where it was for months and now it's gone. Like, vanished gone.

Bye, Ronni. Wishing you luck with the set of keys.

  4. I hate to say it, Ronni, but is there anything else he could have left for you to deal with? Surely, he was not thinking at all or was so overwhelmed that he just did what he did and so what.
I know my husband's actions were out of character because he was OC about most things in life, but left several matters for us to deal with.
I usually remember or find a clue to something in my twilight sleep. It happens a lot. A light bulb goes on.
Sending some additional strength your way! Sounds like you can use it.
Hi to Mgt! 90 degrees here in VA today. Yuck!

  5. Gosh Ronni, just what you need right now. Might have to grid search the house and yard.

  6. Ronni, I'm visualizing you finding those keys. They've got to be close by.

  7. My dad lost his wedding ring by leaving it in our station wagon when I was a baby. He would hang it on the turn signal stick when driving. Forgot to take it off before selling the car to some guy who paid cash and then began his cross country trip.
