Thanks to Jimmy Toungate and his friend Trey, we have achieved coolth. The thingamajig has a new deelybopper and all is copacetic.
I cannot tell you what a relief it was to walk in here and have it 75° instead of 88°! How spoiled is that?
We lived without AC until after Vanessa was born, and in a few places since then that didn't have it. Come to think of it, Jimmy came through with a window unit in the last place we lived without AC.
The thing is, back in the old days, people didn't expect to be comfortable all the time. Comfort was an elusive something to be striven for. In winter, they expected to be cold, and in summer, hot.
We have gone soft.
Soft isn't all bad, Ronni. Congrats on your new coolth!
ReplyDeleteIt is a roller coaster ride, isn't it? Except normally we buy a ticket and choose to ride. I think of you a lot.
Heh. Thanks, Mysty!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how they survived summers in "the good old days".
ReplyDeleteQuite a few didn't.
