Advice to Girls

Bobby Cutts is a real piece of work. There are thousands of Bobby Cuttses all over the country. For some reason, we, as a culture, are raising more and more of them. A man like this is poison.

You see him at school, you see him in the workplace, you see him everywhere. Something about him makes you watch him walk by, and when he sees you, and gives you that little half-smile and a wink, your knees go to jelly and you think you're in love. He is so handsome. So talented. So smart. So loving. He says all the right things, does all the right things, gives all the right presents. He is charming, attentive, affectionate. You are sure you are in love.

But, Dearly Beloved, he is not in love with you.

This man is incapable of love. No matter what he says, he has no idea of what love is. He does not feel, at all. In his universe, there are two things: himself, and everything else.

He can talk you into anything, and he can talk his way out of anything.

He changes jobs frequently, always because there is a problem with his boss or a co-worker. He has few friends, and those he has seem to be "convenience" friends, rather than people he really likes.

Have you met his family and friends? No?

BIG RED FLAG!

He's hiding you. There is a reason for that. Maybe it's another girlfriend, or (gasp) a wife. You, my dear, are a "booty call."

Do you get to see him at Christmas, or does he come over after all the parties? Does he get testy if you let him know you want to see him more often?

BIG RED FLAG!

You have to wonder how many girls there are, all wanting more of his time.

Of course, his time is his. He has a very strong need to be convinced that he is in total control of his entire life. Everything, EVERYTHING you do is on his terms. This is why he gets irritated if you want him to do show up for something at a specific time and place. He will stand you up. Frequently. Because in any contest between what you want and what he wants, he wins. Hands down.

Does any of this sound familiar?

If it does, dump the guy. No questions, no cutting of slack. Get out now, while you still can.

Laci Peterson stayed too long.

Lori Hacking stayed too long.

Jessie Davis stayed too long.

There is a list of dead women. A long list. They all stayed too long.

Don't be on that list.

  1. Nail on the head, Ronni! They keep taking and we keep giving.

When they think their hold on you is slipping, you get thrown a few crumbs, just to keep you believing that he cares.

Parents NEED to treat their children's emotional development as a top priority. For the child's sake as well as the sake of others. Never has a job been more important.

Not every *seen and not heard* child turns out like Robin Williams. Although, he has certainly had his problems and demons.

Erm...I think I should stop now. I sound, damaged. LOL

  2. We are all damaged. Each and every one of us who has been taken in by this type of man is damaged. It's a big club.
