Hilary

Hilary was named for Sir Edmund, not the Senator from New York. When she was a kitten, she would climb legs. Tables, chairs, people--it didn't matter. Because they were there.

  1. Is it me, or, is this cat the most unusual colour?

LOL! Those cats are definitely in charge of that house.

  2. She's a tortoiseshell. So is Gladys, actually, but Gladys is much lighter. Tortoiseshell is just a mix of all possible cat colours. For some reason, males marked like that are rare enough to be virtually non-existant. If I had a male, I wouldn't have to worry about Brendan's college fund!

  3. Well, it is. They are all individuals. Not one of our cats is anything other than eccentric.

  4. Frequently! Also, "Muevele," which is Spanish for "move it!"

  5. Many years ago, we had a kitty with that kind of marking. We called her TarBaby. She literally looked like she'd fallen into a tar pit.

She would lounge on the back of the couch, and fall off every single time. Poor thing had the worst balance I've ever seen on a cat.

  7. We have a tortoise-shell girl! Her name is Jezebel, although she's not quite the painted hussy, more the painted hissy. She's got gold all the way around her eyes, making her eyes look -huge-.

On the other hand, I'm given to understand that when it comes to orange tabbies, the really stripey ones, most of those are males. All three of our males are orange, two with stripes, one whorled.
