The Christmas Play

I have a cast for "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever." I have a very good cast. This is going to be a nice tight little show. There will, of course, be show shots. But, first, there has to be a show. I have it mostly blocked (thanks to B. J. Machalicek), and just need to work on the finer points of choreographing hordes of rampaging Herdmans.

Always bearing in mind that "'Break a leg' is just a theatrical expression. It doesn't mean really break a leg, yours or anybody else's!"

We had our first read-through tonight, and all but one of the actors was present. I've rewritten a bit, to give one actress a couple of lines. It seems strange to me, to write in a character who is absolutely essential to the plot, and then give her nothing to say. Perhaps the part was originally written for a very shy child, or someone with a speech impediment. I didn't have anybody like that come to the auditions.
