Enjoy yourselves, Party of No. It probably won't be too long before we all find ourselves on the same side. What's going to happen when you find your candidates have been bought and paid for, and that you have been raising your voices in support of a corporate new world order?
Just what I need: something else to bitch, whine, moan, complain and RANT about!
Wish I could say something more original than this: "You're preachin' to the choir here!". Poor GWB, his saddest moment in office was when Kanye West said "George Bush doesn't like black people". Considering the comparisons and lies that were told in all the local political ads I saw, neither do any of the local Republican politicians or the people who voted for them. Obama has had a much more successful first two years as president than many before him, especially considering he wasn't just handed a "sick" economy, he was handed the whole emergency room. The stimulus is already starting to work, but people are too dumb to give him credit and give everything a little time. Clean energy is the future, folks. China is eating our lunch creating batteries, solar cells, wind power exploration, etc. We could be creating that and jobs too if we listened to our president. What Obama wisely proposes is a clean energy future not just for jobs but for the health of us and our children now and to come. The oil prices, stocks and rail stocks went up Nov 1 in anticipation of R win. So, its back to coal powered traditional electric plants (dirtying our air, rivers, water, ground) and oil to power our cars (also dirtying our air, rivers, water, ground where we grow our food). The fact that the American people are snowed by oil companies telling them we can't switch to renewable energy is like this: to paraphrase Thomas Friedman, it's as if IBM was given the idea of the computer and they said "NO!, TYPEWRITERS are the future! We must stick with TYPEWRITERS!" If America becomes a third world country, it's because we haven't followed the warnings of scientists for years about global warming. More people have already died in Bush's unneccessary wars than were killed on 9/11/01. We let GW Bush alter legitimate scientist warnings about global warming, and we let him tell us it was better for our kids to pass some multiple choice test than to learn to think critically and creatively. Creative thinking is what is going to get us out of this mess. Encourage your kids to do art, theater, and for God's sake, get outdoors with them! THROW OUT or LIMIT the VIDEO Games! Most important, READ REAL PAPER BOOKS TO THEM! Start when they are babies and what a difference it will make! TO ALL OF US!
