Peaceful

This is why I like the beach in winter. Completely deserted. It was low tide, so the sea was probably too shallow for fishing off the pier, and it was cold! I put my jacket on and seriously considered a hat.

There was no one there, at Port O'Connor, except for myself and an old dog who was nosing around the empty trash barrels. We cordially ignored each other. The water lapped gently at the end of the pier, and there were a few birds.

I'm glad I went.
