Here's Al

We shall post another picture of Al with his hair fixed in a more 1950's style. Al is about 16, and, thanks to the magic of community theater, he is playing Frank Lubey in "All My Sons." A student at Stoney Point High School, Al was in another 1950's show at Sam Bass--"The Merry Wives of Windsor." Between his talent and his good nature, we may never let him get away.

  1. How and why do these youngsters get involved in theatre, Ronni? I would love for my GS to be involved in a similar type of project.

There must be so many jobs for youngsters to do other than acting.

GS has been going to Basketball twice a week. It was all free and run by parents and volunteers. Now, all of a sudden they want £1000 a to keep it going. The original community spirit has gone and they want a professional coach. They want the parents to raise the money which is nearly impossible. What a pity!

This was ideal for us as he needs to have something to keep him off the streets of Glasgow.

BTW, this looks like a good show.

  2. We have a Youth Guild, which they can join for nominal dues. Other than that, they just show up for auditions and give their contact info to the director.

The Youth Guild teaches tech skills, as well as acting.

  3. Yippee! You must be a good luck charm or something, Ronni. You said this might happen.

They seem to have lifted the ban. I reckon a few 'top dogs' had a few Football blog complaints.

Anyway, I suppose I shouldn't hold my breath. It could happen again.

This feeling of sheer joy, is completely OTT!

    Good morning! It really is.

  4. Now, for something rational....!

Every community should have a Youth Guild. The social etiquette, confidence, sense of belonging plus respect for themselves and others, are all skills that are born from this type of interaction.

It is catch 22 with our City Councils. They are put off by disruptive youths but there will be more disruptive youths if there is nothing for them to do.

Hey, employ a couple of 'bouncers'.
