We're in Michigan!!

Wow! Whodathunkit!

The flight was more or less uneventful, except that we had an hour longer in Dallas than was originally scheduled. We bought a deck of cards and I taught Jim to play "Strip Jack Naked."

Don't ask. Suffice it to say that, in spite of the name, it is suitable for airports.

On the final leg of the flight, into Detroit, we skirted the western edge of a magnificent thunderstorm. I had never seen a storm from the air before, and was utterly entranced! The bolts and flashes chased each other among the towering clouds like children playing tag. I am used to being on the ground and seeing the storms come to me and pass over. It's very different to be passing them.

Martin met us at the airport, and we arrived at their home around three AM.

I still haven't met Lisa, as she went to work, but Jim was up when she left, so he has. Mia is an enchanting little princess, and Benny is a wonderfully friendly beast.

Martin makes the best coffee!

More later!

  3. "Strip Jack Naked". Do tell! Try not to get arrested, it's not dignified.

It sounds like you're having a great time. It's going to be a great weekend.

  4. It's a kid-type card game, sort of like War.

  5. Oh, heck, you may well have told me and it went in my ear and out the other. I checked in my brain when school let out, and have yet to pick it back up. Regardless, you enjoy yourself! Big hugs!
