Michigan is a wonderful place. I know Texas has some great place names, such as Point and Shoot, and Nameless, but Michigan's Hell really takes the cake! The town consists of a General store/Post Office, a gift shop, and a Biker Bar. Hell Creek runs through it, and there are no city limits signs--I imagine they would prove to be much too popular with tourists. Given the usual winter temperatures in that part of the world, I'll bet that Hell has frozen over a few times.
The next time somebody tells me I should go there, I can, with complete honesty, say, "Been there, done that, bought the shirt!"
I love telling people I grew up just north of Hell. Northern Michigan has a town called Paradise. To bad there isn't one called Purgatory somewhere in the middle, one could do a full Dante tour! It was great to meet you, by the way!
ReplyDeleteIf I hadn't seen it, I would never believe you had been to Hell, Ronni! LOL
ReplyDeleteGlad you had such a wonderful time.
Thanks for the pictures!
Maybe next trip, we'll get to Paradise!
ReplyDeleteOf course, I thought I was there, eating Lisa's lasagna!
I have never before had homemade lasagna, and, Lisa, I'm here to tell you that it is truly ambrosia!
Martin, I can't even imagine thirty thousand people there!
ReplyDeleteNo wonder the creek looked sort of yellow! It probably hasn't recovered!
