More Sandwich Etiquette

People, people, people.

This is Texas. It's Summer. It's hot. Like, over 90°F in the shade, and there ain't no shade. So when you come to the sandwich shop for lunch, come on in!

Today, the line went out the door, several times. The people in the front were standing at least eight feet back from the counter, and everyone behind them was being very respectful of each other's personal space. At least three times, I hollered, "Come on in! We're friendly! Move up a bit so we can close the door!"

It gets hot in the shop without the door closed, and we can't afford to air condition the parking lot. We finally got everyone in, except for one guy, standing in the doorway, holding the door open for nobody, talking on his cellphone.

Not only can people not drive and talk on the phone, apparently some can't even walk and do it!

It's like: Hello...the people you were holding the door for have come in, ordered their sandwiches and are sitting and eating already, while you stand there, wasting our air conditioning. Wasting our air.

The world is full of idiots.

Because intelligent people tend to have smaller families, we are being over-run, out-voted and beaten to the best parking spaces by stupid people.

I wish they would go to some other sandwich shop.

  1. Good morning, Ronni

People with cellphones have become so ignorant. I can understand someone on the bus making a quick call, home, to let their family know they are on the way.

I find it extremely annoying, having to listen to a teenager give a running commentary of their night out...with all the "F" words thrown in. Argh!

    Spare me, please!

In your own car and in your own space....have at it! JMHO, of course.

Hey, I don't have a cellphone, so, I could be a bit biased.

And, another thing! Getting on and off the bus while talking...! Over here, you get off the bus up by the driver (where you get on the bus). It is just common courtesy to say "thanks" to the driver.

It shouldn't annoy me, but it does. The poor sod, has probably been behind that wheel for 7 - 8 hours, by the time we are going home.

I can't imagine how many times it must cross the driver's mind to jerk the bus to cause some azzhole to fall. Heh!

Sorry this has been so long!

  2. People do seem to have to yell a lot. I'm seeing more of the ones that are just a little head-set. hey look sort of like a hearing aid with a bit that extends toward the mouth. When the person is turned away from you, you can't see the set at all, and it really looks as if they are talking to themselves.
