"Keep on Blogging in the Free World*"

SSS used to say, "It's hard to soar with the eagles when you're surrounded with turkeys."

Husband has a sign on the wall that says "Illegitimi Non Carborundum," which, roughly translated, means, "Don't let the bastards get you down."

I think I've been letting the turkeys get me down.

The internet seems to be the last bastion of free speech in the world. In the free world. So why should I care what critical people think of my writing? My looks? My skills? My family?

Personally, I think I'm doing pretty well. My English teacher, Mrs Beaubier, would have been proud of my writing. My looks, I'm pretty much stuck with. My skills as a costumer and actor are appreciated in the small circles where I use them. My family is the best. I have a wonderful husband, beautiful and intelligent kids, and a grandson who is beyond excellent.

Life is sweet.

I can ramble on about anything I choose. Most of the world is not listening. Twenty or thirty people read my blog every day. Not a lot, but they (you) keep coming back. I must be doing something right.

So, those of you who enjoy criticizing my opinions, my friends, my looks and whatever else you dislike--rock on!

I don't give a hoot!

  1. And then there are those of us who think you're just ducky, in fact for all sorts of reasons. And by the way, you've got a wonderful kid on your hands! Well, probably three, but I only know one. And he's nifty. Thank you for lending him to us for the show, because he's a huge asset, well-spoken, and polite. And funny. You should keep him around! :)
