Can you believe this?
There are three of these signs at the site, but nothing indentifying the contractor.
I know this is Texas and all, but, really!
Edited to add: the word "construction" is sometimes pronounced that way by a person with an accent. And the distinction between an adjective and an adverb is a mystery to a lot of people for whom English is a second language. The problem, for me, is that it made it past a sign painter as well. SOMEBODY should have caught such egregious errors before the sign got out where it is. Nobody did. Or, nobody cared to point it out if they did. Either way, it's a sad commentary.
This cracks me up laughing every time I go past it! And what's worse is the 'u' in contstruction is the only letter that's actually phoenetic! Buahaha!

This is definitely the most egregious example of total lack of interest in getting it right that I've seen.

ReplyDeleteSign painters who do that sort of thing on purpose don't last long.
I'm worried about the total ignorance that allowed it to get out there in the first place!
Probably done by one who would rather make a mistake than ask a question, in case it makes him/her look stupid.
