Brendan and I went shopping at the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar today, and guess what I heard as I walked in the door? Yes, folks, that is Ray Benson, with the Quartet version of Asleep at the Wheel! I am ashamed to say that I haven't seen him play for over 30 years! His hair wasn't grey when I saw Asleep at the Wheel at the UT Student Union Ballroom in those antediluvian days.
Don't you hate it when the cutest fiddle player in seven counties hides in the shadow most of the time?
Wish I had gone to the AWHQ this year. It's been a long time since I've been there, and I do also love RB and Asleep at the Wheel. Bet it was fun! ...t
