What is This?


I didn't have anything handy (except my hand, and I wasn't going to put that anywhere near this thing) for a scale, but it was at least 3" long. The wings are double, as we noted when it flew away.

I'm told it is probably a termite, but I've never seen one that big, even in Texas.

    Check google images. It LOOKS like a termite, but it could be a flying ant as well. Hard to tell the difference.

    If it has to be one or the other of those, it's definitely a termite.

    I've never seen one that is 3" long, though.
