Here We Are

Tennessee is beautiful! I think I'm in love! Miles and miles of beautifully forested hills, with verdant valleys in between. We were a bit late getting into Cleveland, due to a side trip of about 50 miles up the Natchez Trace, to check out a mythical waterfall and the burial place of Merriweather Lewis.

We didn't manage to get close to the waterfall, having left our pitons at home. The woods there are lovely, and very like the rain forest in British Columbia.

The truckers drive like maniacs, though, and there is nothing like barrelling down a mountain, sandwiched between two eighteen-wheelers, at seventy miles an hour!

Anyway, we are spending the night at a motel in Cleveland, after a delicious dinner at El Cozador, an excellent Mexican restaurant.

Cleveland is a lovely town, with a real early Nineteenth Century feel to it.

  1. I don't know which I'm more jealous about....the fact that you're in Tennessee seeing waterfalls or that you got to go to a Mexican restaurant :)
