  2. Sounds like some traditional British snack! LOL!

Twitter is the latest in instant messaging, supposedly faster and more concise that IM. One more weapon the younger generation can use to beat the English language to death, IMO.

I have no clue as to Plunk, but I ain't gonna drink it!

  3. Ahhh, eye candy for Monday!

Plurk is later than Twitter apparently (they call it Plunk)

I havent heard of either one of them. I use Office Communicator for work and Yahoo Messenger for personal. Old fashioned me lol.

  4. Hell, I use email...how old-fashioned is that? I do use IM occasionally, but don't much like it because there is no time to edit, or really even think.

  5. I IM all day at work. Its the way we all pretty much communicate. Even if we sit right next to each other, which is ridiculous, but I guess it stops people from getting annoyed with you talking in our "open environment"

  6. Oh, by the way, just got off the phone with a tech for my monitor. I have to send it to Round Rock for repair!

  7. The plant is about a mile from my house.

  8. I had a giggle when they said Round Rock, because before I "met" you I have never heard of it.

I have a feeling they are going to just replace it. It was a Christmas gift that I JUST opened, and the thing just doesnt work.

It may be that it was in my car for 2 months, but I doubt it since it was COLD here then not hot. But I didnt tell THEM that since its under warranty lol.

  9. Before my ex, SSS, got a job interview here in i977, I had never heard of it, either. There were just under 12,000 people here then, and now the population is rumoured to be around 80,000.

I'd move somewhere smaller, but I'm five minutes away from one job, and twelve minutes away from the other, and five minutes away from the theater. I do have to go two miles to a grocery store.

Also, I hate to start over in a small town. When we moved here, we had an "in," because SSS was working for the City of Round Rock, in the Planning department. I would have no such device anywhere else.

We have a love/hate relationship with Dell. The city got them to come here by offering tax relief for a set amount of time. When the time was up, Dell threatened to pull out, so it was extended. The employees' kids overcrowd our schools, and it's like pulling teeth to get a bond package passed to build more. My husband's school was built for between 700 and 800 kids, and had 1300+ last year.

Wherever the Dell employees go, they ask for discounts, and get huffy when they don't get them. I know the local Quizno's had a Dell discount when I worked there, and heaven knows who all else does. When they ask for one at the costume shop, I get resentful. We struggle to keep going, working long hours to get the school and community theater shows done at a price they can afford, and these guys who make more than Ramona and I combined have the nerve to ask for discounts.

    But I love their computers!

  10. Dude! Its not a Dell! (that was a joke from the commercial)

It's an Acer Monitor, to help my poor eyes from squinting in front of my laptop.

The thing is bigger than my tv lol. The address is on Old Settlers Blvd. (affiliate???)

I would be annoyed if someone asked for a discount just because they work in your town too.

My Company gets hotel discounts and airline discounts because we have more than 40,000 employees in the US, more than 200,000 intetnationally, but not local shops, thats ridiculous.

  11. Good morning, Ronni!

I am way too busy at work but wanted to say a quick hello.

Hope that gorgeous rapscallion is going to return the belt.

  12. If he doesn't, Mgt, I'm going to give him a hard time about it for the rest of his life!

Spring, he is yummy, isn't he? It's hard to believe, with all that yum, he is also a drop-dead marvellous singer, and really quite a shy and self-conscious guy, without being AT ALL naive.

His son graduated this year, with Brendan, and is off somewhere on a music scholarship, so Joe will probably be off to Europe again.

  13. Thank you Ronni.
    You too Melissa.
I still use Yahoo when the need arises, but I could care less..I used to use it A LOT when first on the internet.
I use my email more now then ever! So I'm with you there Ronni! lol
And I got a good laugh at what you said about sounding like a british snack too funny!
    almost like bangers and mash!
Oh Ronni, you'll love this one, I fed the guys a baked potatoe with pork and beans on top...you could have heard a pin drop. I got them to actually taste it,and they liked it. I ate it like that when I went to England, and I have to say I did the same thing! lol but what a hoot it was to serve it to the guys..too funny!
