"Scott, we now know, is disgruntled about his experience at the White House. For those of us who fully supported him, before, during and after he was press secretary, we are puzzled. It is sad — this is not the Scott we knew," said current press secretary Dana Perino.
And, a quote from this article:
Bush Under Fire From Former Aide
"This doesn't sound like Scott — not the Scott McClellan I've known for a long time," said Karl Rove, Bush's one-time political adviser
This is the same thing they said about me, when the Board of Directors of the theater kicked me out last year. The Vice President was the spokesperson for the Board--the President sat with his back to me while she talked. She said I seemed to have become a very angry person; that I was not the same Ronni she had met when she came to the theater four years before.
This is what happens when a person who has been a doormat for years finally decides to stand up for herself. Or a member of the disinformation machine steps off the bandwagon.
Of course Scott McClellan is different. The guy was a loyal Bushie from when George was our Governor, here in the G S of T. I'm sure he had been chewed up and spit out by the time he quit as Press Secretary.
I was sweet and humble, and grateful to be included at the theater. After all, the majority of Board members were folks with degrees, or at least, backgrounds in theater. All I had was on-the-job training.
I started to realize that, after so many years, I really did have the experience and knowledge and skill and talent to stand alongside these people as an equal. I started to stand up for myself. Almost immediately, they started to think of me as "difficult" to work with.
Good Luck, Mr McClellan. They are saying anything they can to discredit you and your book. Judging by the strident and repetitious comments, they are scared.
I'll buy the book.
