"While the Reality-Based Community was Sleeping"
New Entry by Ronni Bennett at "As Time Goes By."
"There are, now, disturbing similarities between the early stages of Nazism and what is happening here. Dissenters to the war in Iraq are accused of treason and aiding the enemy. Groups who gather to protest the president and his policies when he gives public speeches are fenced in, away from his and the media’s view."
Please read and get riled.
Let's just make sure we always look at both sides. There are definitely some radical beliefs out there....coming from both far left AND far right. Take what you hear with a grain of salt, remember, it's the media putting it out there and they aren't always to be trusted.
ReplyDeleteOne of the most radical is that it's OK for the President to undermine the constitution.
ReplyDeleteI live in Texas. I see the Republican, support-your-President-no-matter-what side day in and day out.
These people scare me.
You scare me.
Do some independent research into what is going on.
If you actually READ tha Patriot Act, or whatever document started all this mess, you're one up on most of the senators and congressmen who signed it.
Check into the huge prisons being built, supposedly to house border crossers while their cases are inching through the courts.
Way more prisons than there are undocumented aliens. And a lot of folks in them who are as documented as any other legal resident.
It's folks like you who permitted Nazism in Germany by doing nothing.
No! Promoting open mindedness is not what caused Nazism. And there is NO way that we are even on the same tract as the Nazi's. I do not consider myself liberal or conservative...I listen to what each human being has to say individually and make decisions based on that. People that hear republican, right side, conservative or whatever and then base HORRIBLE judgments are just as bas as some of the people they are accusing themselves.
ReplyDeleteI didn't say that promoting open-mindedness caused Nazism. Apathetically allowing a leader to undermine the laws of the land encouraged it.
ReplyDeleteWhich is EXACTLY what is happening here.
Quit arguing with me and go do some research, somewhere else besides O'Reilly and whitehouse.gov.
i have never been to either of those sites and isnt that what you want? people arguing their point?
ReplyDeleteI want to open people's eyes to the fact that our democracy is in danger, due to the machinations of our President and/or his "handlers."
ReplyDeleteArguing with you is pretty low priority with me.
Ronni, you'll have some Misfit Mail at Sam Bass this week. It may already be there.
ReplyDeleteVix
Thank you, Vix! I'll be looking for it!
ReplyDeleteI saw the neatest 'graffiti' spray painted on the back of a sign on the road yesterday:
ReplyDeleteReal Patriots Defend The Constitution.
Scary stuff, Ronni.
ReplyDeleteNow Cheyney is goading Iran. That kind of behaviour is sure to boost "terrist" training camps. Heh, maybe that is what they want...someone has to be making money out of this war. Foolish, corrupt idiots, the lot of them.
Good morning. It's good to be back.
Glad to see you, Mgt! I hope all is well...
ReplyDeleteMy week at home was okay, thanks. Took his lordship horse riding and 10 pin bowling. I had a few games of 10 pin and knocked my freaking back out. Ooph, the pain?!
ReplyDeleteI'm over the worst of it thank heavens.
I spent some time reading, here, this morning, Ronni. It made me realise how extraordinary you are. Coping with the most horrendous mess, while your heart is breaking...it just astounds me. You are an exceptional human being.
You touch my heart at some point every day. And, I'm not a very emotional person, normally.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could visit, I really do.
Ronni: I know this is terribly off the subject. . .but did you ever find the keys????
ReplyDeleteYes, I did, Susan. Thanks for asking. They turned up in a drawer that I had searched several times.
ReplyDeleteAHA--great news.
ReplyDeleteHi there Ronni, I am off the subject as well. How are you my friend, I am back at home my youngest daughter is doing her final exams at the moment, she is hanging in their, and doing ok, considering she has some health issues that don't make things so easy for her, but she is giving it her best shot.
ReplyDeleteHow is the renovating going?
Glad to see you found the keys.
Um, sorry about that. I know very well that you are not ready for people, yet.
ReplyDeleteI like what you are doing with the house, Ronni. I prefer bright and airy rather than dark and dingey, too.
Hope you have a better day, today. xx
Just got home from babysitting Aidan while Chandra went to a concert.
ReplyDeleteI wish you could visit, too, Mgt...
You're right, though. It will be the better part of a year before I'm ready for company.
Get all these antiques out of here and something light and bright in.
Well, I hope you are only working in the afternoon, today.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter came home from visiting with her girlfriend last night, stomped around for a good hour, then threw herself into my bed at about 4:00 ayem, and took up the lions share of space. Holy milksop!?
If I wasn't so annoyed, I would have laughed. She was having a real "go" at someone. LOL. Smelled as though she had taken on enough fuel to fly to New York.
I never argue with the inebriated.
It's eight days till Halloween, and "Thoroughly Modern Millie" goes out on Thursday.
ReplyDeleteNo half-days for Ronni this week!
