Good News and Bad News

Thank all of you so much, who were helping me pray to find the keys to the Oldsmobile F85. They turned up this morning, in a drawer that had been searched more than once.

Now, if y'all would please pray for Jasmine. She had a bone scan, and there's "something." What the "something" is has to wait for an MRI, which will be scheduled shortly, and I will post the date as soon as I know it.

She has been through so much! If you don't know what people in chemo experience, read her blog, and "The Marshalogues," both linked in my sidebar. The courage displayed by both of these people is awesome!

Here I am, sitting here, whinging about finances and furniture, while these two are fighting for their lives, with humour, with faith, and with an attitude that would sound like Pollyanna coming from anyone else.

My hat's off to the both of you!

  1. Dear Ronni,

As I see it, you are fighting for your life too. Please don't diminish your own struggles as you honor those of your friends, noble as they are. You too have a heavy cross to bear, learning to adjust to a life you never asked for, never planned for, and would not wish on your worst enemy. I admire you for having such remarkable friends as Jasmine and Marsha. I've read their blogs at your recommendation and they *are* very special people I would be delighted to know (and do, a little, thanks to you and to their writing). They do not deserve the cruelties of cancer (no one does). And you, Ronni, did not deserve the cruelty of Jim's suicide either. Just because you have compassion for others doesn't mean that your own suffering is any less painful. And you are just as valiant in rebuilding your life as they are in saving their own. I believe that you will all succeed in your goals.

  2. But, at least, I have my health (knock wood).

  3. Yes, there's that. And may it continue.

  4. I hope it does. I can get insurance through TRS, but the plan I can afford covers pretty much nothing. It just keeps me from being totally uninsured. Neither of my jobs provides insurance.

Another one of the things that happens when you drop out of college.

I heartily endorse the idea of figuring out what you want to do BEFORE you go to college.

  5. Ronni, just move back to Britain, if you need serious healthcare. You won't need to pay for a thing.

I visit the Marshalogues and Jasmine quite frequently. So sorry to hear about that brave little girl having problems. Positive thoughts for her and her mother.
