Anyone Following This One--Jessie Marie Davis?

http://www.cantonrep.com/index.php?Category=9&ID=360797&r=0&subCategoryID=0

WHY WON'T THIS THING MAKE LINKS?

And why won't blogger answer my emails about it?

Anyway, Jessie Marie Davis disappeared sometime between Wednesday night and Friday morning. She is due to deliver a girl on July 3rd. Her two-year-old boy was left alone in the house, and the bedroom furniture was in disarray.

Here's the skinny: the father of her son, and her imminent arrival, is a married police officer in Canton, Ohio. He and his wife are separated. He has two children with his wife, one with another woman, and these two with Jessie. He owns two vehicles. That's a lot on a police officer's salary. He is involved in a lawsuit, claiming that African-American police officers are on the receiving end of discrimination. His department is lined up squarely behind their brother officer.

He reportedly (see article) has a verse from the 23rd Psalm tattooed on his arm. I'd have more faith in that if he followed the rules laid down by his God. Isn't there one that says something to the effect of, "Thou shalt not screw around?" I sure hope he supports all those children!

He picks up a bit of extra money, about $250 per game, playing semi-pro football. I hope he has a full season.

The FBI has been called in on this case. I wonder why. Don't they usually come in if the crime crosses state lines? Maybe there are hints of a cover-up with the local police. I read on one of the crime forums that her cellphone records were not collected until today. As her cellphone is missing, I should think they would have gone after those right away. It might, after all, locate her. If it's still with her...

And, to add another dimension of strangeness to this, a female baby was found on a doorstep in a rural area fairly nearby. Her DNA is being checked.

Stay tuned for further developments...

  1. I still drop by and read your blog Vero. I don't usually leave a comment, I just keep to myself these days. Safer that way. This is a very sad situation. Thank you for doing this case.

  3. Lovely to see you Possumbear! I think of you often.

Another Jason Young. What kind of bastard leaves a 2 year old to fend for itself? Especially, after the poor little soul saw his mother being attacked/murdered? Give me strength!

Another slick narcissist, if you ask me. Or, a sociopath. If that is the right personality type...the ones who have no empathy or remorse.

Very worrying that he is a cop!

  4. Possum! How nice to see you!

Bobby Cutts Jr. lives in North Canton OH, near as I can figure. Here is the url of a page of links to stories about the case:

He seems alfully cool (as in cucumber) to be the killer, but we've seen that before. Apparently, he went on cooking on his grill while police searched his house.

  7. Wow, Possumbear! Your son was in Scotland and Ireland, and Mgt's brother is visiting from overseas!

And here I am in Texas, miles from an ocean!

Oh, well...at least I'm not stuck in the middle of a desert, right?

  8. Yes he will be away all up, three months.

I am very happy for him. My turn will come one day. My husband and I would love to do Canada, and the States.

  10. Is he on a working holiday, Possum?

I love taking long trips on the train in the UK. Wish my brother had not rushed over. I go on leave 2 days after he goes back. We definitely would have travelled together.

I hope your son is enjoying himself, Possum.

Ronni, don't forget, when you get over here...you look me up!

  11. Mgt,

No he isn't working, backpacking, as well as a couple of organized group tours. He is travelling with his girlfried, they have both been studying for the last few years, as well as working. I am so happy for them.

Ronni, thanks for the offer, the bags are packed.
