Jasmine Update from CaringBridge

Heather says:

Tonight I had my heart broken. My heart ached for Jasmine. We went out today to see our movie, Bridge to Terabithia. Which was good. Then we went to get Kelsey her shin guards and a new soccer ball. She starts practice on Wednesday. Well, when we got home, we decided to get Kelsey's new ball and shin guards, and Jazz's old turf shoes out and give them a go. Jorden and I joined Kelsey with kicking the ball around, soon her dad was out there too. Jasmine was watching and then she started to cry. Dad and I went over to her and she was so upset, she told us that she can't do anything. The reality of her world starting to sink in. I told her to just CRY! It's okay to cry, it will help mend that broken heart that she is feeling. She told me (while her face was buried in my chest) that it sucks, because soccer was the one and only thing that she truly loves. It hurts so much, mommy! Those words broke my heart into a million pieces. I can't imagine what she must be feeling inside. To have the one thing you LOVE most taken from you. She is so talented that no matter what she does, she will be great. She knows that and so do we. But it's just not the same. Soccer was her life, and still is. She loves to watch the games. It's hard to be there and not play, though. Her dad and I took her to Target where we bought her a new golf club. She is going to give it a go. Dr. Lewis said that when the brace comes off in six weeks...she can start to play golf two months after that. She is a competitor and as a competitor she will give 150%. She doesn't know any other way. I just had to share this with you guys. Because I know you love Jasmine and not everyday can be sunshine days. But she was smiling after we bought her golf club and the thought of starting that. We'll invite you all to come watch her play. That she would LOVE! We love you guys and peace be with you.

Love,

THE SUBIA FAMILY
