Further Musings on the Rant

See, here's the thing. I've been in theater for 23 years. I haven't a degree in it; no formal education. Everything I have learned about theater has been on-the-job training. One of the biggest things I've learned is that the Play is the Thing. The important thing. All the nuts and bolts, money, problems, personalities; all of that is secondary to the Play.

Even if I were angry enough with Prez to want to see him make a fool of himself, which I was not, I certainly would not do anything to detract from the excellence of the Play.

I am the last person in the world who would ever "sabotage" anything!

I have been nothing but supportive of Prez, over the years. I have praised him, defended him, and dressed him like a prince. So out of what scabrous orifice has he managed to pull the accusation that I tried to sabotage him?

There was no delay about getting Paul's name on the plaque when he passed away. Could that have been because Addy was still there to be Ms Moneybags? And could the inexcusable amount of time it is taking to display Addy's name have anything to do with the fact that Jim and I do not have the money to continue her level of contribution? Not to mention that, if her name had been on the plaque, the mistake in the Prez's letter might not have got by everybody who read it before the program went to print.

And another thing. I've seen Prez get angry at others over the years. One of the things he does in his anger is expound at great length on the subject to anyone who will listen. So I think it prudent to assume I am being bad-mouthed. Nothing I can do about that. I'm just hoping that he gets over it soon.

There are three weeks left in the run of "Arsenic," and a Board meeting. He's the Prez and I'm the House Manager. And then there's "All My Sons." I had precast him as Joe. Maybe I'm thinking too far ahead, but I don't want all these complications to sneak up on me.

Ah, well. Maybe it will all look better in the morning!
