Isn't this cute? I really like it. It has two huge rooms downstairs, and two tiny ones upstairs. It's for sale (again). In the time I've been here, it has stood empty for years, and had many incarnations. Once, desperate for a place to live, I looked it over with a view to renting it. The door stood open, and I just went on in (trespassing, I know, but not doing any harm). I almost had a fit when I climbed the stairs, and a life-sized bust of a woman stood on a table in one of the upstairs rooms. I left quickly. It was no way suitable for a single mom with three kids! I was told that the two tiny rooms upstairs were originally "cribs," and that it had been a House of Ill Repute.
I wouldn't doubt it!
It has been a restaurant, an architect's office/studio, a church, and, most recently, a place to rent for weddings, etc.
When it was a church, I was very amused, given its unsavoury reputation.
Omigosh, Ronni! That's funny. I can just picture it now. The Church of Our Lady of Ill Repute!
ReplyDeleteIt actually is a pretty building, though.
Our Lady of the Everlasting Blow Job!
ReplyDelete~sorry, Joan; I couldn't resist~
