"The Women" Opens!

Well, people, we are up and running!

Last night went very well. The audience was howling with laughter!

There is always a certain amount of anxiety over crowded dressing rooms, mirror time, hot roller and curling iron time, and all of that. Those things get resolved as we get into a performance routine. Those going on first get the mirrors first, etc.

Our theater is very small. We have 50 seats, and a small green room, and even smaller side stage area. We have a costume shed, which has been pressed into use as a dressing room, and a barn which is in use, as well. Pretty much anywhere out on the patio, one can expect to find an actress or two wielding a curling iron or a makeup brush. We have a lot of extension cords.

We are going through hair spray, mousse and gel at an alarming rate. Safety pins, bobby pins, hair pins--any sort of pins are in great demand. Baby wipes aren't lasting till their sell-by date, either.

I can hardly wait till we have show shots, but I'll try and remember to take my camera for backstage shots. I've seen two or three kodak moments already, and would hate to miss more of them.

Stay tuned!
