A Miata is a wonderful thing. One of the wonderful things about it is its Bose stereo.
There is a local (well, Austin) band called Two O'clock Courage. They play traditional Irish and Scottish music with a few other odds and ends thrown in. They are very good, with wonderful gritty harmonies, and a nice combination of traditional and modern arrangements.
OK, enough exposition. I was driving up Mays Street one day, and stopped at the Main Street light. A kid pulled up next to me, with one of those stereos that will rattle the fillings out of your teeth. And, of course, he's playing some rap thing, full of bad language and worse Karma.
So, I cranked up Two O'clock Courage on the Bose. I thought, take THAT, you inconsiderate child!
~TOWANDA!!~
Out of my Bose stereo, at top volume, came an impeccable arrangement of
"Pop Goes the Weasel!"
~sigh~
That's what I get for trying to be cool!
LHAT! Towanda! I loved that movie. I'm sure your music selection left them trembling in intimidation. Too funny.
ReplyDeleteI love that movie, as well!
ReplyDeleteJessica Tandy is one of my all-time favourite actresses.
ROTFL!
ReplyDeleteI think you're cool without even trying :o)
Ours is a '92. We bought it in '93--it was a demo, so we got it fairly cheap. It's cute, and it goes very fast (by my standards, anyway), and it's just cool.
ReplyDelete~zoomzoom~
That was funny!
ReplyDeleteYou are an absolute riot, Ronni!
Good morning!
The best stories are the true ones! Thanks, Mgt!
