I used to tease Mom and say she looked smug in this picture. She made me stop, but I still think it's true.

Her lovely wedding gown was cut up during WWII for nightgowns. I think she could have made a pair of pajamas out of the sleeves, alone. I still have the shoes, though. There's a mark inside one of them where a fifty cent piece was hidden for luck.
That's a beautiful wedding picture, Ronni!
ReplyDeleteI have another, with the best man and maid of honour included. I'll post it when I find it.
ReplyDeleteHi Ronni! You are the sharp one today. Wink, wink!
ReplyDeleteLovely, pictures. The quality of the old black and white pictures is so much better than the ones you get today. I can't find the cane, I'm afraid.
Your Mum looks like a real cutie. Cheeky too, I think.
My daughter always sends hers B&W film away (somewhere?!)for about 10 days, so they can be developed properly.
it sounds as though you are working around the clock. Geeeez!
Have a great weekend
Okay! I discovered you can enlarge the picture.
ReplyDeleteNow, I can see it (the cane).
One of these days, I'll tell a cheeky Mum story. If I hadn't known that Ethel was her middle name, I'd have suspected that Cheeky was! LOL!
ReplyDeleteDirk!
ReplyDeleteIf I weren't already very happily taken and I knew you, you could marry me. I love this dapper Ronni dad.
Ronni!
This is Tony Kirby and Alice Sycamore. Oh that my costumes for You Can't Take It With You look as good as this gen-u-ine article. I sent the link to my cast.
Love,

This photo has been in more plays than I have! Whenever a director needs old family photos for set dressing, I lend them this, among others.
ReplyDeleteDirk, I am glad to see you drop in.
(psst...some of us are (((old)))). Shh...don't tell anyone!)
Beautiful picture and she does look smug and cheeky!
ReplyDeleteLis
